What is Branch?

Branch is a fee-free digital wallet and debit card* that allows you to access your tips instantly right from your phone. As soon as your customers tip through Tippy, your tips will be available right in your Branch app.
From there, you can use your tips in the Branch app in a variety of ways—all for free. You can spend tips via the Branch digital wallet with Apple/Google pay, by swiping your Branch Card, or purchasing or paying bills online. If you prefer tips in cash, simply stop by one of 55,000+ free Allpoint ATMs**. Or, you can choose to save the tips you’ve earned—either directly in your Branch account or by sending money to your existing bank account.

Getting Started

Getting started with Branch is simple. As a Tippy user, you already have a Branch account ready and waiting for you (with money in your account, if you’ve already earned tips via Tippy!). To download Branch and connect with your Tippy account, simply open the Tippy app on your phone and:
  1. Visit the “Profile” tab
  2. Scroll and click on “Wallet”
  3. Click “Connect to Branch”
  4. This will bring you to the app store on your phone to download the Branch app—complete the app download
  5. Log in to Branch using the same email and information you use for your Tippy account
  6. Verify your identity
  7. Access your tips!

Can I add/update my personal bank account directly to the Tippy app?
Branch is the exclusive tip-out method for Tippy users. With Branch you can instantly spend as you would with any other checking account, earn cash back on eligible transactions, and transfer your tips to other accounts—all for free! If you’d like to send funds to a different bank account you can simply connect your preferred account within the Branch app and move funds at your convenience. Please note: ACH transfer methods may take up to 3-5 business days depending on weekends and holidays.
Why does Tippy use Branch to deposit my tips?
Tippy partners with Branch so you can have instant access to your hard earned tips using the Branch digital wallet. From the Branch Wallet, you can spend tips you’ve earned immediately via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or the Branch Card. When you spend your tips with Branch, you can receive cash back on eligible purchases! From Branch, you can also move your tips to an external bank account through traditional ACH transfer methods. If you need assistance, you can easily contact the Branch support team from within your Branch app or at support.branchapp.com.
How much does Branch cost?
It is free to use your Branch account and card! You can spend and save from Branch at no charge. You can also transfer your tips to an external bank account via ACH for free, and access cash at one of 55,000+ free Allpoint ATMs**.
How do I sign up for the app?

I already use Branch—do I need to create another Branch account through Tippy?
No! If you’re already using Branch, please visit your Tippy app, navigate to “Profile” then “Wallet.” From there, click “Connect to Branch” and your Branch account will link automatically, as long as your information has stayed consistent (first and last name, email and phone). If any of your information has changed, please reach out to Branch directly at: support@branchapp.com and Branch will help link your existing Branch account with Tippy!
I’ve gotten stuck in the process of signing up for Branch—what do I do next?
Stuck in the signup process for Branch? This could be due to a few reasons—your email address, date of birth, or some other piece of information not lining up with what we have on file. Luckily, it’s an easy fix! Simply submit a support ticket or email support@branchapp.com to troubleshoot.
How does the Direct Deposit feature work?
In addition to pay advances, if you would like to have a portion of your bi-weekly pay check loaded directly to your Branch app/debit card, you can set up your Branch account as a direct deposit in HFHS Self-Service. (Remember, there is a limit of two (2) direct deposit accounts allowed in self service.)
To obtain the routing number and account number for your Branch account, select Add Direct Deposit in the Branch app and follow the prompts.
How do I get help if I am having issues transferring or making transactions with my tips, or have noticed any discrepancies in my statements?

How do I get a Branch Debit Card?
You can order a card right within the Branch App and it will be mailed to your home address. While you wait for your physical Branch card to arrive, you can spend digitally with Apple/Google Pay, or at any online merchant.
